- Aikikai to limit attendance at Kagami Biraki 2027 The Aikikai Foundation has announced that not everyone will be able to attend the Kagami Biraki ceremony at Hombu Dojo on 10 January 2027: building work is under way and there is less space than usual. Kagami Biraki traditionally opens the new training year, and the Aikikai publishes its list of dan promotions for it. Who can attend will be announced later. Source: Aikikai Foundation
In Russia
- Russian Youth Aikido Championship in Oryol, 22–26 October From 22 to 26 October the Russian Youth Aikido Championship takes place in Oryol, at the GRINN complex. Boys and girls aged 13–15 and juniors aged 16–18 will compete in kihon-waza and jiyu-waza pairs, in groups and in combined technique. It is organised by the National Aikido Council of Russia with the support of the Russian Ministry of Sport. Source: National Aikido Council of Russia

- Nizhny Novgorod Oblast aikido embukai in October In October the Nizhny Novgorod Aikido Federation holds the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast embukai, a demonstration event. The calendar lists age groups 12, 13–15, 16–18 and 19+; it does not give an exact date yet. Source: Oshinkan Aikido Club

- Aikikai aikido seminar in Rostov-on-Don in November The Association of Aikikai Aikido Clubs has put a training seminar in Rostov-on-Don on its calendar for November. It will be led by the association's vice-president, Vladimir Tagirov Shihan, 6th dan. The exact date and venue are best checked in the association's calendar. In Samara Oblast
- Samara Yoshinkan Aikido school turns 18 On 4 October the Yoshinkan Aikido school in Samara turned 18. It opened in 2008, and in 2012 the school's mentor, Matsuo Sensei, gave it the name Kobukan Dojo.
